Jennifer Fearn is a Scottish womenswear designer. She has always had a strong interest in art and design and from a young age knew that she would pursue a career in design. The world renowned facilities of Heriot-Watt University seemed the ideal place for Jennifer to explore her many areas of interest in the fashion and textile industry. During her third year here she was chosen to participate in a semester abroad at Philadelphia University in the U.S. This was an incredible experience providing the chance to work in a different culture with a very fast-paced working environment and to learn about a fashion market outside of Europe. During her time there she learned new skills, such as print design, created life-long friendships and industry connections and greatly built her confidence. Whilst in the states she also had the amazing opportunity to work at New York Fashion week, helping with various shows both backstage and front of house.

Jennifer has further experience working in industry through her internship with the womenswear team in Marks and Spencer. It was a great opportunity to work for this company at an exciting time as they forge themselves a new, contemporary identity in the fashion market.

Jennifer’s other interests include textile design, with experience in knitwear and print, interiors, architecture and contemporary art. She also has a love for the outdoors and travelling and takes inspiration from all of these areas in her life.

Creating collections mixing timeless, minimal designs with on-trend pieces, she adds contemporary features through her choices in print, colour, fabric and textile techniques. With a focus on quality and luxury, Jennifer aims to create clothing that empowers the wearer, giving her confidence and making her feel strong and beautiful.

The designer is now looking for the opportunity to explore the fashion industry at a higher market level in a creative environment, creating new and exciting designs.
